According to a Honda Canada press release, the Honda Civic sold a total of 43,556 units in 2021 to retain its position as the top-selling passenger car in Canada, led by the universally acclaimed all-new 11-generation Civic, aka the 2022 Honda Civic, which debuted in June last year. This impressive feat has allowed the Civic to maintain its number one position for the unprecedented 24th year in a row since it became the best-selling car in Canada for the first time in 1997.

The Civic is Honda’s oldest and longest-running automotive nameplate globally. The model has sold more than 2.25 million units in Canada since its introduction in 1973. What makes it even special is that the Civic has been proudly manufactured in Canada at the Honda of Canada Manufacturing (HCM) plant in Alliston, Ontario, continuously since 1988, longer than any other Honda plant in the world.
