The 2025 Civic introduces hybrid-electric powered trims that set new standards for performance and efficiency. The Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid trims are anticipated to deliver a combined 200 horsepower and an impressive 232 lb.-ft. of torque. This makes them the most powerful non-Type R Civics ever produced, offering quick and effortless acceleration. One of the standout features of these new hybrids is Linear Shift Control, which mimics the vehicle speed-linked rev feel typically associated with a conventional drivetrain shifting gears under acceleration. This technology ensures a driving experience that is not only efficient but also exhilarating, outperforming the previous 1.5L turbo-powered Civic.

In addition to the advanced powertrain, the new Civic hybrids offer four levels of regenerative-braking deceleration, controlled through selector paddles on the steering wheel. For those who prefer traditional powertrains, the Civic LX and Sport trims continue to be powered by the responsive and efficient 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine. This engine has been a staple in the Civic lineup, known for its reliability and performance, which outputs up to 150 hp and 133 lb.-ft. of torque.
