Trims and Engine Specs

Like its best-selling predecessor, the 2021 Honda Civic, the 2022 model year Honda Civic is available in four different trims – LX, EX, Sport, and Touring. And while the LX, EX, and Sport trim levels pack a standard 2.0-liter, 16-valve, DOHC, i-VTEC® 4-cylinder engine, the Touring derives its power from a turbocharged 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder powertrain. Honda has retained the same powerful yet efficient 2.0-liter powertrain in the first three trims and it produces the same 158 horsepower and 138 lb.-ft. of torque. However, the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine powering the 2022 Honda Civic Touring trim has been tweaked to produce more horsepower and torque than previously. It now makes 180 hp and 177 lb.-ft of torque compared to the 2021 Honda Civic Touring’s 174 hp and 162 lb.-ft. of torque.

The 2022 Honda Civic sedan comes with a standard Continuously variable transmission (CVT) with standard front-wheel drive, Eco Assist System™, ECON mode button, and standard Honda Sensing® Safety Suite on all trim levels.
